In order to be able to repair
your Whirlpool direct drive washer when is not
draining properly or not draining at all, you will
need to have an idea of how it is that the washer
drains out the water.
The washer uses a reversible
motor. A reversible motor means that the motor could
run in either direction, clockwise or
counterclockwise.
When the washer is on the
agitation cycle, the motor runs counterclockwise and
when it is on the drain/spin cycle, the motor runs
clockwise.
So the first thing you need to,
is to put the washer on the spin cycle and listen to
hear if the motor runs.
If the motor runs and the
washer doesn't drain out or drains out too slow, you
will need to check to see if there is an obstruction
on any of the hoses, inside the tub, in the pump or
in the drain hose.
If the motor doesn't run, you
will have to check the lid switch, the motor, and
the timer.
As you could see there are few
reasons why your Whirlpool direct drive washer may
not be draining out. |
