In order to be able to diagnose and repair your
Whirlpool 29 inch electric dryer when it won't start,
you will need to know what parts to check in the
starting circuit
Let me explain to you
how the electricity flows through the dryer during the
starting circuit. Electricity flows from
the wall outlet through the power cord to the terminal
block L1 & L2 terminals. From L1 at the
terminal block, electricity flows to the timer.
From the timer electricity flows to the thermal fuse.
From the thermal fuse electricity flows through the
start & run windings in the motor From
the motor electricity flows to the start switch and it
is waiting until the start switch is pushed or turned.
When the push switch is turn on electricity flows
through the switch to the door switch.
if the door switch is close, then the dryer motor should
start running. So, as you could see,
there are many parts that have to be working properly in
order for the dryer to be able to start.
-
The voltage at the terminal block
-
The power cord
-
The timer
-
The thermal fuse
-
The motor
-
The start switch
-
The door switch
You will need to use your multimeter to
test all those parts until you find which one is
preventing the dryer from starting.
We have all the videos necessary to show
how fix your dryer when is not starting.
