If the problem you are having is that your Whirlpool 29
inch electric dryer is not heating, you will need to
know what parts are connected to the heating circuit in
order to be able to find out what part is the one that
you will need to replace to get the dryer heating again
Let explain how the electricity flows through the
heating circuit Electricity starts at the
wall outlet and flows through the power cord
-
From the power cord it flows to the
terminal block
-
From the terminal block it flows to
the timer
-
From the timer it flows to the
thermal cutoff
-
From the thermal cutoff it flows to
the operating thermostat
-
From the operating thermostat it
flows to the Hi-limit thermostat
-
From the Hi-limit thermostat it
flows to the heating element
-
From the heating thermostat it flows
to the motor switch
-
from the motor switch it flows to
the terminal block
-
From the terminal block it flows
back to the wall outlet
If any of the parts mentioned above
fails, the dryer will run, but it won't heat.
A lot of dryer owners when the dryer
stops heating, right away the assume that the problem is
the heating element or the timer
They replace those parts and find out
that they still have the same problem.
What I am trying to tell you is that when you take a
guess, there is a big chance that you will replace a
part that is working ok and electrical parts are not
returnable, so you need to make sure that when you
replace a part in your Whirlpool electric dryer it is
because that part is bad.
If you want to see how to check &
replace each one of the parts in the heating circuit,
