If the problem with your Whirlpool 29 inch electric
dryer is that it won't start no matter in what cycle you
set it on, the problem could be a blown thermal fuse.
Now keep on mind that there are other parts that have to
be working in order for the dryer to be able to run.
So if you are not sure that the problem is the thermal
fuse, you should go to the
page dryer won't start instead
Let me explain what is the purpose of the thermal fuse
in the dryers circuit The thermal fuse is
a safety device use in the dryer motor circuit to stop
the dryer from running if the temperature inside of the
dryer drum reaches over 196 degrees fahrenheit.
This safety device is located near the operating
thermostat in the blower housing close to the exhaust
pipe. if the operating thermostat which
supposed to open at about 155 degrees fails to open and
the temperature reaches over 196 degrees, the thermal
fuse will blow. This is a not resettable
fuse, when it blows you will need to replace it with a
new one.
The best way to learn how to check it
and how to replace it the proper way, it is by seeing
how it is done
