"What to check in a Whirlpool 29 inch
electric dryer when it makes noises"

Noises could be coming from many places in the dryer. I will explain where most noise usually come from.

We will start with the drum support rollers. The dryer uses two rollers to support the rear end or the drum.

These rollers have a metal sleeve in the center, a plastic ream and the rest of the roller is made of rubber.

When a roller bearing (the metal sleeve in the center) grease dry out, the metal sleeve will wear out and the roller will start making clanking noises.

The Idler pulley is the part use to apply tension to the belt. The older type of idler pulley had a wheel that the belt ride on, that eliminate the friction ob the belt.

They change the idler pulley, the newer didn't use a wheel, it use a teflon glide. This idler pulley with the teflon glide cause a lot of friction on the belt

When ever I replace the belt I also replace the idler pulley with the one with the wheel on it

The blower wheel is use to circulate air from the outside through the inside of the dryer and to the outside using an exhaust hose

Most of the times when the blower gets noisy it is because some object has fallen through the filter housing and wound up on top of the blower wheel

Other parts that can cause the dryer to run noisy are, loose cabinet, loose panels, the motor, the belt, overloading the dryer, etc.
The best way to learn how to take the dryer apart and check the mentioned parts is by seeing how it is done
