There are many reasons why the dryer cord may have to be
replace. The major one is when one of the terminals has
burned out
Loose connections on the wall
outlet or on the terminal block are the cause why the
cord burns out A lot of times when the
power cord or pigtail is installed on the new dryer, the
screws or nuts securing the cord to the terminal block
are not tighten properly. Loose wires create resistance
and resistance create heat
A loose connection between the cord plug
and the wall outlet, will cause the terminal on the cord
plug and on the wall outlet to get hot and burn
Another reason to have to replace the power dryer cord
is that when people move the new wall outlet may be a 4
prongs and the dryer cord may be a 3 prongs cord or vise
